Langham Parish Church

CPR DROP-IN SESSION, Saturday 20 th April in Langham Village Hall between 2.30 pm and 4.30 pm.

This is an opportunity to practise life saving manual chest compressions under supervision.

In the event of a Cardiac Arrest, ie someone is unconscious and not breathing, it is important to start CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation or more simply manual chest compressions ) as soon as possible. Remember, of course, to phone 999 from the location of the patient asking for “Ambulance”. CPR should be continued, by more than one person taking turns if possible, to restore the partial flow of oxygenated blood to the brain and heart which will improve the chances of the patient surviving until the arrival of a defibrillator or ambulance. While a Cardiac Arrest often affects older people it is worth bearing in mind that it can affect people of all ages and both genders.

Please check this website nearer the time for any updates such as changes of the timing of the CPR Session in the event of bad weather for instance.
