  • Sandbags, 11th May
    11 May 2025
Hi. I live on 19 Melton Road and my house has flooded twice now. Once in October 2023 and second time in January 2025. The council haven’t taken any action to prevent this so a local resident has taken action himself. He has built a sandbag wall by the river. However I am concerned this has not been done correctly and the sandbags won’t be effective. I am also concerned that if a flood happens again that the water pressure will knock these over and cause a tidal wave of water towards the houses and onto the road. Please can someone assess this? Remove the sandbags if in not appropriate and take actual action to build a defence or gullies or drainage to prevent flooding from occurring.

  • Raw sewerage draining into local stream, 4th April
    04 April 2025
A gulley / trench has recently been dug on land between Mickley Lodge and the public footpath. Raw sewerage is now flowing down the man made trench. The sewerage smell along this stretch of the path has been vile for several months, but it is now very clear that this is a deliberate attempt to discharge raw sewerage from a cesspit down the trench and then into the local stream approximately 100 metres away.
