    The silt levels under the bridge have been building up and now reduce the flow of water when the Brook is full. In addition, before Christmas, the water flowing through the Brook lifted the metal gate, which is now wedged under the bridge.

    Hi, Langham is prone to flooding and I was walking the dogs today and noticed that the stream is blocked in multiple places. The council has a responsibility to ensure that the owners responsible clear the blockages. This is urgent as properties in Langham have flooded multiple times in the last 2 years. Thanks

    There is a drain on Melton Road, just off the turning to Well Street. It is currently full of water so assume it is blocked. There is water running down the road and unable to drain into the drain as it’s full. It has been full for a few weeks and is full even when the other drains are empty. This is urgent as properties on Melton Road have flooded twice in the last 2 years so ideally needs resolving asap. Thank you

  • Cracked and raised tarmac at zebra crossing, 7th January

    A large section of tarmac which has cracked and raised with the cold weather next to the zebra crossing outside Langham CE Primary school. It was noticed this morning after the snow had all melted. Worryingly it is a trip hazard on the zebra crossing for children and adults.

  • Blocked drain A606 Langham leading to surface water and flooding of A606, 7th January

    Blocked drain on the A606 northbound carriageway through Langham opposite the turn and T junction to Manor Lane. Drain has been blocked for more than a month causing significant amounts of surface water to continue to run down the hill and contribute to the already reported repetitive flooding of the A606 in the dip between Wells Street and Church Street.

  • Overhanging branches blocking water flow, 27th December

    Water is not flowing freely through the Langham Brook alongside the Severn Trent Sewage pumping station in the village. I have contacted Severn Trent to ask them to clear it; they have advised that their land doesn’t go as far as the bank of the Brook and this bit of land is unregistered and therefore the Council’s responsibility to clear. Please could this be looked at as soon as possible.
