Dying Matters in Rutland

Dr Sarah Furness, Lord-Lieutenant of Rutland, has initiated the project 'Dying Matters in Rutland' that aims to give Rutlanders a single source of information about the many forms of help available to them when they have to plan for their own deaths, or cope with the dying and deaths of loved ones.   Dr Furness considers that the pandemic has alerted everyone to their mortality, and talking about and planning for our end of life could make life better for us and for our loved ones left behind.    Although there are still superstitions about talking about it, 'Dying Matters in Rutland' has tried to pull together all the information one might need in one place.   The initiative is supported by the local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).   All details about the help available can be found on the website https://www.dyingmattersinrutland.org    The website also gives details of a Virtual Bereavement Help Point where people can access information and support, and this is backed by trained volunteers
