2026/104 Apologies and approval of absences

The absence of Cllr. Appleby was approved.

2026/106 To approve the minutes of the meeting held on 30 th June 2026

The minutes were approved and signed by the Chairman.

 

2026/107 Matters arising from the minutes of the meeting held on 30 th June 2026

   a. Flood depth gauge – the gauge has been removed and agreement reached with RCC Highways for approved re-installation. A certified Highways installer is being sought.

   b. Village sign - unveiled by the High Sheriff of Rutland on Saturday 25 th July.

   c. Community Park notices – notices re-iterating that, for health and safety reasons, dogs are not allowed in the Community Park have been posted in Langham News and displayed.

   d. Community Park bin collections – the service will be taken over by BIFFA from 1 st August 2026, bins to be emptied weekly.

   e. Permission to clear brook – a request for an update on RCC actions regarding flooding in Langham, a request for permission for volunteers to clear areas of the brook and for RCC to provide suggested skips to collect any debris has gone unanswered. The request has been chased up 3 times.

   f. Langham Parish Council has permission to co-opt to fill the two current casual vacancies.

 

2026/108 Clerk’s report and Correspondence

Nothing to report at this meeting.

 

2026/109 Flooding -

   a. Brook clearance – response awaited from RCC (see matters arising). Several residents have volunteered to assist with clearing work if permission can be obtained.

   b. Flood Plan – acknowledgement from LLR awaited.

 

2026/110 CIL projects

   a. Rewilding – Cllr. Besant agreed to identify some additional areas to consider for planting. Bulb and seed mix has been identified as the most successful planting.

   b. Community Park fencing – planning approval for replacement fence awaited.

   a.To receive planning applications and decisions since the last meeting.

Village sign – the installation of solar lights to illuminate the village sign will be considered at the next meeting.
